Registering your website with Google is an easy process. All one has to do is to follow this link: http://www.google.com/addurl/ and fill it out in its entirety. Viola! Your site has been registered with Google.
Registration is but the tip of the iceberg of the Search Engine process. The next step is to get your website ranking up so with a little luck and know how your site could be on the first page of results. There are a couple of different methods that used in conjunction can increase your sites ranking. The list below will describe each method starting with the easiest.
1. Link popularity – To help increase your sites ranking within Google, it helps to have other (outside) websites link to yours. For instance, to increase the ranking of the Northland Open Houses website the more external sites the higher Google ranking the Open House website will achieve.

Not only is quantity important in website ranking quality is just as important. For instance, if your website has a link on the Yahoo main page that would be considered a quality link to boost your website ranking.
2. Keywords – Keywords are used in your webpage header and body that people (visiting your site) are most likely use to search for your site. While this method is a bit more technical in doing, it is very important for visitors to identify your website. For example, for offices in the Duluth area an example of keywords for your site would be “Duluth real estate” ,”Duluth homes for sale”, etc. These keywords are used by Google to determine which websites are listed among the results if a visitor enters “Duluth Real Estate” into a Google search. Your placement in that list will depend on your websites ranking against others that use identical keywords.
Using these two steps can boost your website ranking and increase the odds that your website could be among the first page of results.
Google also offers a webmaster tool that allows you to retrieve statistics and diagnostics of your website according to Google. This set of tools can be found here: http://www.google.com/webmasters/
